Lesley's now off to the movie world! Aug 9 2005

By The Huddersfield Daily Examiner

BIG BROTHER'S Lesley Sanderson is starting a new career - as a film actress.

The Skelmanthorpe 19-year-old has landed a part in a movie.

She'll appear alongside Coronation Street and Where The Heart Is actor Thomas Craig in Six Bend Trap.

Model Jodie Marsh and You've Been Framed hostess Lisa Riley have also been cast in the production.

The low-budget film, directed by Mike McCarthy, is a 70s-style gangster thriller, set in Middlesbrough.

Lesley revealed filming is due to start in mid-September.

She says: "I found out about it a couple of weeks ago from a company called Claypole Management.

"They emailed me, so I gave them a call.

"They said they were interested in me being in the film.

"So they invited me to Middlesbrough to have some test shots done."

Lesley - who has also talked about launching a fitness DVD - said she was excited at the prospect of working with such people as Thomas Craig, Lisa Riley, Jodie Marsh and Dave Courtney.

She added: "My part isn't a starring one, but it's been fitted in especially for me.

"I play a girl in a bar who gets chatted up.

"My character wants to get into the music industry, which is a bit creepy because that is what I want to do.

"I also have a singing part in the film."

Lesley hopes the film will have the same success as other low-budget productions, such as The Full Monty and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Hi Mal,

I would like to raise issue with some of the comments attributed to Lesley Sanderson (big brother), in her local newspaper the Huddersfield Examiner. Whilst I appreciate the press do not always get it right poetic and licence spring to mind. I would like to clarify the following. Six Bend Trap is not a gangster film in any way shape or form.

If 4.5m is low budget then so be it.

It is set present day, not the 70`s.

No scene was written with Lesley in mind.

Claypole management are our preferred casting agency and as such they introduced supporting actors to the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough for a screen test. Lesley being one of many. Hope this information can clarify matters.
